The estate

One family, four decades of harvests

In keeping with family tradition, in 1985 we began cultivating a small vineyard of about 100 Merlot vines. Over the years we have gradually expanded the planted area to 13,500 vines. In 1999 the estate was recognised as an agricultural business. Today the area under vine is about 3.5 hectares.

Each year we produce around 6,000 bottles; the rest of the harvest is sold to CAGI in Giubiasco. The estate has been managed according to integrated-production guidelines since 1988 and for some years we have used no herbicides. The vineyards are worked — apart from the harvest — by family labour and one employee.

We farm 8 communes of the district, from Galbisio to Monte Carasso, for a total of 18'677 vines. Each vineyard has its own name, handed down in dialect.
